Research on Energetics, Persistence, and Intelligence

The Ibesian Centre

The Ibesian Centre is an independent research institute focused on understanding the fundamental energetic principles that shape the behavior, endurance, and organization of complex systems. Its work explores how energy, dissipation, and temporal structure interact to influence the persistence and transformation of physical, biological, and cognitive processes.

At a broad level, the Centre investigates how systems maintain coherence, adapt to their environments, and develop increasingly sophisticated forms of information processing. This includes examining the conditions under which organized states emerge and persist, and how energetic constraints shape the evolution of structure and function across scales.

The research program brings together ideas from thermodynamics, systems theory, information processing, biological organization, and the study of emergent intelligence. By integrating these domains, the Ibesian Centre aims to clarify general principles that govern how systems endure, learn, and act within a dissipative universe.

While much of the Centre’s work is foundational and theoretical, its long-term vision includes providing conceptual tools that may support new approaches in physics, biology, computation, and the study of artificial and natural intelligence.

The Ibesian Centre represents a commitment to rigorous, independent inquiry into the energetic foundations of persistence and the emergence of complex, adaptive behavior.
